HO - Steam Loco Kits
PRR A5 Shifter

A total of 47 engines were built
by Juniata Shops, starting in the year 1916. The first engine built was number
511, shop number 3166, in December of 1916. The first A 5s had Belpaire
fireboxes, piston valve cylinders, Walschaert valve gear, and superheaters.
The last six (numbers 3890-3895) were designed with a cylinder slant and a
power reverse. Years later all A 5s would receive power reverses, and many
trains contained a fire hose. Our HO A-5 was made from new molds, we did
not get the Hobbyline molds. Now includes new can motor and gear box
